Family Hui Mission

As a program of Lead4Tomorrow, the mission of Family Hui is to work towards developing sound families and thriving communities, which contribute to the realization of a more peaceful world. The Family Hui program does this through peer-led parenting groups offering support, encouragement and empowerment for parents and caregivers as they face the joys and challenges of raising their children. We help parents and caregivers celebrate the joys while learning to address the challenges and stress encountered in healthy ways.

Since 2014, our Family Hui program has been operating throughout the state of California, and subsequently we have supported the formation of hui in Virginia and … Also since 2014, our Family Hui program has been an integral part of our Eastern Africa Community and Family Health Initiative in Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda, building on a pilot project in 2012 conducted in partnership with Mpanzi, a community-based organization in rural Kenya. During 2020, our California-based Afghan Family Hui Program Coordinators have also organized hui in Kabul to reach out to families in Afghanistan. Our goal is to provide the resources and benefits associated with our Family Hui program to as many families as possible wherever we can operate the program consistent with program principles and standards.
